Nearly a foot of snow covered the ground as some thirty five people gathered at the home of Steve and Sally Wilson in January of 1995 to pray about starting a new church. The group began to grow and, after a brief period in a hotel meeting room, moved into the current location on Prospect Avenue, renting the downstairs of the South Building. Believing that God was giving them the property, renovation began on the sanctuary in the Spring of 1996.

The letter to the Ephesians speaks of five ministries that are given to the body of Christ for a specific time and a specific purpose.

Ephesians 4:8, 11-13 "When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men...And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ..."

Steve Wilson is the senior pastor and founder of Dayspring and leads the team of elders that gives oversight to the church. Raised in Kenya in a missionary family, Steve has planted churches among many different cultures, including tribal areas of Kenya, an inner city area in England, and an African-American area in Atlanta, GA. Steve travels worldwide as a popular conference speaker, helping build leadership teams in churches and church networks, and serves as an apostle on the International Apostolic Team of ICLC (International Christian Leadership Connections).

Steve & Sally Wilson are the founders of Dayspring. As the senior pastor Steve leads the team of elders that gives oversight to the ministries of Dayspring. Both Steve and Sally are popular conference speakers with a real heart to train and encourage other pastors and to help equip the next generation of leaders.
